I play on ML, ATS, Quarters, Halves, Doubles and occasionally on Player Exotics. My goal is to hit close to 60%. However 53% will give a nice profit.

I bet in units. Though out the seasons I will play x1 unit, x1.5 units, x2 units and on occasions huge x3, x4 & even x5 unit plays! On average x1 unit should be 3.5% of your bankroll so adjust accordingly. This is very important as we are investing not gambling!

So for example your x1 unit may be to win $100, so I bet $110 @ odds of 1.91. Betting at these odds your unit outlay would be:

x1 unit play - $110 to win $100

x1.5 unit play - $165 to win $150

x2 unit play - $220 to win $200 etc.

I adjust the amount I bet according to the odds taken. for example playing x1 unit @ odds of 1.85 I then have to up my bet to $115 to win $100 and so on.

Patience and Bankroll management is the key.

2011 Campaign Wrap

My 2011 Sports Investing Campaign has come to an end!

Finishing @ 299 - 250 - 7 (+99.81 @ 54.5%)

This year has been a huge success. I started this blog at the very end of December 2010 and my final plays were over the AFL & NRL Grandfinals on October 1st & 2nd. For the 2011 campaign I include only 3 sports. NBA, AFL & NRL with a separate category for Multi's. Here's how each finished up:

AFL : 103-94-2 (+72.94u @ 52.3%)
FINALS: 6-4 +6.58u @ 60%

Huge year in the AFL for season 2011! My best yet. This was partly because of my big win in the Brownlow which added just under +30 units thanks to D.Swan! So still +40 units for the regular season & finals! Clearly my strongest Category!

NRL : 65-54-3 (+8.69u @ 54.6%)
FINALS:3-5 -3.29u @ 37.5%

The NRL was an interesting year to say the least... After a disasterous start it wasn't until the half way point of the season that my total was finally in the black! Its fait to say this years totals are a little under where I would have liked at the beginning of the season but to finish +8.7 units after such a bad start is great! Plenty of improvement for next season.

NBA : 131-102-2 (+14.15u @ 56.5%)

The NBA season is by far the most challenging as it requires constant assessing as once the season begins games are played daily! It just never stops! This season was great! I actually finished the regular season with +30 units! my Playoffs campaign was terrible and consequently halved my total.... This will be addressed next season guaranteed! Still +14 units is a good result.

MULTI'S : 4-10 (+4.02u )

This year I also included a separate category for Multi's or Teasers.... As you can see hitting 30-40% is about right and I made a small profit +4 units. These bets are more for a bit of interest and should not be relied upon. I cannot stress this enough!

So my 2012 Campaign begins!!!

This year I will include 2 new Categories. The NFL and NCAA, which will be a combination of both College Football and Basketball plays. I look forward to bring you these new categories as well my regulars NBA, AFL & NRL!

I will run each of my yearly campaigns from the begin the the NFL & College Football seasons in September through to the completion of the AFL & NRL seasons at the end of September. Look forward to another successful year in 2012!!!

    Congrats on the great season. Love reading your insight on the games. Will you be betting on the Nbl season?

    Cheers mate. Not at this point. I did have a stronger interest in the NBL a few years back but I think with all the changes I will just watch & see how the season pans out.
